I once told the reader that there were two types of dreams: the collection of images and sensations created and retrieved by our unconscious mind during sleep, and the grand visions for the future conceived and nurtured by our conscious decisions. But now, having completed my meandering recollection of those six months in 1999, I must now discuss the third type of dream — the neglected subject of the tens of thousands of words that have led us here.
