The core reason why we care about biological life is the life part. And life is fundamentally about awareness and ability to think / feel / experience. I think the Bible does not necessarily preclude non-biological life, though I respect interpretation to the contrary. And a bit of a more ontological critique is that there is no real line between biological and non-biological.
