Perspective

Even after decades in their midst, keeping them as friends and working with them toward the same goals, I could never lose the sense of melancholy that would bloom in my heart whenever I was in the company of scientists. Though being of help to their cause has been a great honor — Father certainly would be proud, if he is watching over me still — there was always the unshakable feeling that I was slowly losing something important.
